Product Manager (Regulatory Compliance)

Permanent employee, Full-time · Remote, Freiburg

Your Tasks
Recyda is the Operating System for Sustainable Packaging. In a world where global brands face an increasingly complex jungle of international regulations—from the EU’s PPWR to diverse national EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) schemes—we provide the ultimate source of truth. Our SaaS solution enables companies to manage packaging data digitally, assess recyclability worldwide, and automate complex compliance reporting.

Our Content & Compliance Team is the engine behind this intelligence. We don’t just read regulations; we research, decode, and transform them into the structured assessment logic that powers our platform. We are looking for a Product Manager to bridge the gap between regulatory requirements and technical implementation. If you thrive at the intersection of data, law, and product UX, we want you on board!

As a Product Manager for Regulatory Compliance, you sit at the heart of our value proposition. You are responsible for taking global packaging guidelines and translating them into high-precision digital features.

  • Roadmap & Strategy: You lead the pre-planning of our Content Roadmap, ensuring that upcoming regulatory changes are screened, prioritized, and ready for implementation before they hit the market.
  • Regulatory Intelligence: You stay ahead of the curve by screening international updates on packaging laws and EPR systems, preparing the groundwork for how these changes impact our software.
  • Backlog Management: You act as the bridge to the Content Team by preparing detailed Jira tickets. You break down complex legal requirements into clear, actionable tasks.
  • Data Model Evolution: You play a key role in expanding our Packaging Data Model by translating new regulatory requirements into structured data points. You ensure these additions are integrated in a way that is logically sound, accounts for complex system dependencies, and remains intuitive for the end-user.
  • Feature Planning: You design and prepare the user journeys for EPR Submission Reports and Insight Dashboards, ensuring our customers can generate compliance reports with a single click.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: You have a hunger to "nerd out" on packaging materials, recyclability standards, and EPR fee structures to become a core expert in automated compliance logic (prior experience is a plus).

Skills & Experiences
  • Product Mindset: You have experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, or Technical Consulting, ideally within a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Technical Intuition: You possess a strong understanding of data structures and logic. You don’t need an Engineering background, but you should be able to explain how a change in one data point affects a complex calculation logic.
  • Analytical Precision: You enjoy translating "legalese" into structured logic and clear requirements. You are detail-oriented and don't mind diving deep into spreadsheets or documentation.
  • Passion for Sustainability: You are genuinely interested in the Circular Economy and want to help the world's biggest brands reduce their environmental footprint.
  • Agile Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Jira and agile workflows to keep cross-functional teams aligned.
  • Communication: Excellent English skills are a must (as we deal with international regulations).
Why You Should Join Our Team
  • Impact: Join a high-growth GreenTech start-up and directly shape the future of sustainable packaging.
  • Ownership: Take responsibility from day one in a fast-paced, independent environment.
  • Innovation: Work with cutting-edge tools and a team dedicated to advancing the circular economy.
  • Flexibility: Hybrid/Remote options within Germany or work from our modern office in Freiburg.
  • Culture: A creative, flexible, and mission-driven team atmosphere.
